Freshly manufactured and stronger than acetate with anti-static properties.  If working exclusively with tape splices, plastic leader is the most affordable leader variety.  Also Spectra’s primary lab leader!

If working exclusively with liquid cement, we suggest looking at our German made acetate leader for proper splicing compatibility.

 

  • Application: Protects film heads and tails when threading projectors and scanners.  Shields archived film from the elements.
  • Manufacture Material: Static resistant, rigid PVC (RPVC) that will not out-gas or deteriorate over time
  • Resiliency:  Stronger than acetate leader – 6 mil thick.  Impervious to vinegar syndrome (VS).
  • Color:  Brilliant, solid white leader (not painted).  Will not peel or discolor over time.
  • Formats:  Available for regular 8, super 8, 16mm and 35mm formats!
  • Transport:  Easily threads and runs through any scanner or projector
  • Joining Compatibility:  Suitable for tape splices only
